Dr. Chung-Hsien Kuo received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from National Taiwan University, in 1999. Dr. Kuo is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and his research interests include autonomous systems, novel soft robot design, advanced control systems, hybrid robot design combining rigid and soft machines, computer vision & visual servoing, and autonomous manipulation with AI approaches. His humanoid robot team (HuroEvolution) received a number of awards in the Worldwide RoboCup Humanoid League during 2013 – 2017, including 1st Place of the Technical Challenge and 2nd Place of the Soccer Game of the AdultSize League in 2013 - 2014 (Netherland and Brazil, respectively); 1st Place of the Technical Challenge and 2nd Place of the Soccer Game of the TeenSize League in 2015 (China); 2nd Place of the Soccer Game of the TeenSize League in 2016 – 2017 (Germany and Japan, respectively).
