Research expertise:
Biomedical detection and diagnosis system, Integration and development of Optomechatronic systems (e.g., microfluidic system platform, micro-pattern coating system, etc.), Wetting and bioinspired engineering.
Dr.-Ing. An-Bang Wang has served as the vice president in the International Society for Coating Technology (ISCST), editor of international journals, and steering committee of international conferences abroad. In Taiwan, he was the counselor of advisory office, Ministry of Education (MOE), the chairman of the image display technology program, and the director of the Optomechatronics Teaching Resource Center of the MOE; also has won the Outstanding Engineering Professor of the Chinese Society of Engineers, the Outstanding Technology Transfer Contribution Award, National Science Council and the National Invention Creation awards, Ministry of Economic Affairs etc. His students have won the first prizes in many academic and industry-sponsored competitions under his supervision. His main research direction is the applications of the advanced thermo-flow control; current research interests include wetting, superamphiphobic surface technology, bio-inspired engineering and smart biomedical detection.
