Affiliation:

Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering/GIEE/GIPO/CCMS, NTU

Research expertise:

1.High mobility and stacked channel transistors beyond 3nm. 2.GeSi/GeSn CVD epi. 3.Self-Heating device/circuit simulation 4.Si photonics/Ge detector/EL/PL/CMOS image sensor 5.Stacked SRAM/MRAM/DRAM

Prof. Liu is with Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. from National Taiwan University in 1985 and Princeton University in 1994, respectively. Reflecting the diversity of industrial needs in Taiwan, his expertise covers strained Si/Ge/GeSn FETs/photonics, 3DIC, IGZO TFTs, and solar cells. Prof. Liu invented the SiGe MIS structures for LEDs and detectors. He pioneered the stacked gate-all-around n/p channel transistors, particularly for Ge/GeSi/GeSn channels. He achieved a record high electron mobility of larger than 2x106 cm2/Vs in strained Si with the clear fractional quantum hall effects.
