Beyond the clinical works in taking care of psychiatric patients, Dr. Chien is devoted to the clinical research of autism spectrum disorder, including the sensory phenotypes, adult outcome and comorbidity, and social skill training effectiveness study. Dr. Chien has written a book for the public education on autism spectrum disorder (Title: The price of Genuineness: Aspies grown up). She also translated PEERS social skill training manual (PEERS® for Young Adults. Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) and The Science of Making Friends for Mandarin-speaking adolescents and young adults of autism spectrum disorder.
